About Clemens Otto

I’m Clemens Otto. I work on the infrastructure behind distributed systems, with a focus on reliability and security. This includes blockchain nodes and infrastructure for staking and validation.

I’m managing director of atweb3 GmbH and work on DevOps and SysOps for Bitcredit Protocol. Earlier roles include CTO at kontractory GmbH and Empovver, partner at Validvent, and IT operations at Rechtsfux. I also advise and support various projects and businesses on technical matters, including Galerie Otto, sprad.io and Block Consult.

I have a long-standing interest in cryptoeconomics and the connections between blockchain technology and traditional financial markets.

Vienna and the Austrian blockchain ecosystem

I studied Information Systems at Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Wien). My thesis examined Austria’s blockchain landscape, including its market development, companies, use cases and business models.

In 2023, I co-edited the Austrian Blockchain Landscape and co-presented it at Block & Wine in Vienna in May. During my time at Validvent, I also co-organized other Block&Wine events in Vienna, bringing together people interested in blockchain technology.
